When starting out with a new skin care regime, there is such thing as "too much too soon". Although it's nice to treat yourself to an array of products , rushing into actually using all of them could lead to problems for your face, including causing breakouts. If your face is not used to having anything on it regularly, especially products such as facial oils, start out with a simple routine with products such as a cleanser, toner spray and moisturiser, including an exfoliator additive to use twice a week. A good range to start with is our fruit enzyme range, containing light formulations to cleanse and hydrate without leaving your skin feeling heavy. Once you feel comfortable with your routine and your skin has adjusted, you can up your game and add some lovely serums and specialty creams!

The order in which you apply your skin care can make a world of difference in creating the best results possible from your products. Various types of products absorb into your skin at differing rates, so its important to apply products at the correct stage so you can get all their intended benefits. An example is the more liquid nature of serums, where their benefits can be lost if they aren't "sealed" to the surface of the skin with a follow-up moisturiser. This is not true for all serums, but is a good point to consider when trying to create your most illuminating glow. The types of products you use may also vary depending on time of day. Some products are designed to act quickly, where others are designed to absorb slowly into your skin over a longer period of time, making some products suited for use in the day vs night. The order in which you should apply your products is: DAY TIME Cleanser Exfoliator (Scrub or Mask) Mask (Hydrating) (AM Hydration masks give your skin a hydration boost!) Toner Spot / Blemish Treatments Serums / Oils Moisturiser or Specialty Creams (like our Peptide or Renewal cream) Eye Cream Toning spray throughout the day - to freshen up when required Then continue with your regular body/sunscreen routine. NIGHT TIME Cleanser Mask (Clarifying or Hydrating) Toner Spot / Blemish Treatments Serums / Oils Moisturiser or Specialty Creams (like our Peptide or Renewal cream) Eye Cream Then continue with your regular body routine. Don't have all of the products listed? No worries! Simply skip the step of any products you don't have, and continue on in order. *It's always better to apply body products after your face products. This is because body products are heavier in nature, and any product residue left on your hands after applying them could make their way to your face and unbalance your facial oils.

Our natural products are suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin! However its important to note that even natural products in rare circumstances can cause a reaction in some people. Always read the label carefully to see if a product contains any ingredients or essential oils known to give you a reaction before purchasing. Its advised to patch test our products on a small area before use, and monitor for any reactions or irritations. If a reaction or irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately and seek professional medical advice where necessary.

We use either no preservatives or natural preservatives in all of our products. Provided they are stored in a cool, dry place, the shelf life of most of our products is 12 months. Once opened, depending on the product, the product will continue to be stable for approximately 6-12 months.

Our products are free from nasties and toxic chemicals however they do contain potent, natural essential oils - some of which may or may not be suitable while pregnant or breastfeeding. We openly list ingredients for each product on our website in the product descriptions for you to assess or speak to your doctor about before deciding to use our products. Any products containing Vitamin A should be avoided when pregnant or breastfeeding.

While naturally occurring AHA's and BHA's in skin products are a great tool for treating acne and other skin concerns, it's important to be aware of the potential side effects of using products that contain them, such as photosensitivity. As AHA's and BHA's act to exfoliate away dead skin cells to reveal fresh, new skin underneath, the process can increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight, which can lead to sunburn or other possible forms of sun damage. To avoid photosensitivity, it's important to use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and avoid sun exposure during peak hours, usually between 10am and 4pm. If you do find you are more photosensitive after using an AHA or BHA-containing product, it's best to avoid using any other exfoliating products that can increase the risk of photosensitivity, such as retinoids, vitamin C serums or physical exfoliants until symptoms have eased. It's important to note that photosensitivity can persist for several days after using an AHA or BHA product, so it's important to continue practicing good sun protection habits even after you've stopped using the product. If you experience any redness or discomfort after using an AHA or BHA product, it's best to discontinue use and consult with a dermatologist.
